It was a great course, and a lot of information, I have learnt a vast amount, I thought I knew a lot already, but this takes my learning to a new level of understanding, especially getting into the nitty gritty of the DOCa regulations, my passion wine started with Rioja, so this was a very enjoyable course. If you are thinking of undertaking this course, please do, but do not take it lightly. The exam was difficult, but if you go thorough every chapter consciously, you will be rewarded

This was one of the best courses I have ever done, I feel like I have learnt so much. The test was quite challenging but I liked it anyway, it really tested my understanding of the course well. Thank you for making this course free, I have even more appreciation for Rioja wines now.

Great course, which I enjoyed with a glass or two. A few too many stats and figures for me and the doings of the Control Board were a bit tedious, but overall, I feel much better informed about the wine and the region. Next up.....plan a visit!

Very interesting. Good setup. Quiz question sometimes tricky, especially with open questions you cannot make typing errors. Multiselect questions are difficult, especially in the exam: you never know if you ticked all the correct boxes!

I enjoyed this course so much. Not only it was very informative as for the wines of Rioja wine region, but it broadened my knowledge on many wine-related aspects. It would be quite helpful if in the block relating Wine tasting there was a list of wines to taste (some iconic, or emblematic, as well as some popular wines on the domestic and export markets)in order to get an impression on the hierarchy of wines according to their origin and to their ageing. Just a list.

final test is tough. The module quizzes were occasionally frustrating to pass as your correct answers are not tracked; you have to figure out which one(s) you got wrong on your own. I feel smarter now though!!

I like how in depth this certification was. Though my progress was restarted twice, once after I had already passed the test, I enjoyed reviewing and learning the info. I did struggle at times with the grammar, as some information did not translate well (some videos and photos were not translated at all), as well as the conflicting information the text had, but overall I had a positive experience.

I greatly enjoyed the course and it succeeds in doing what it sets out to do, namely increase your knowledge of Rioja wines. If I were to offer any constructive critcisim, it would be to make sure the test questions both for the chapters and the final exam focus on testing your overall understanding rather than just remembering numbers or factoids. Some questions are also open to interpretation or multiple correct answers even though only one answer is approved. Just as an example, there is a question about where the tomb of St. James was found. Both Galicia and Santiago de Compostela would be correct answers, and the question doesn't pertain to your understanding of Rioja wine.

I loved this course although being a lazy student I gave the materials a quick read and tried the test. Bad idea! you need to real the course materials carefully, take concise notes and study! The wording of many of the questions requires sound knowledge of the material. So now I have a much better understanding of the Rioja region, the differences in the sub regions and a greater appreciation of the rules and regulations governing the creation of quality Rioja wines.

The information I found in this study is extremely usefull for representing Rioja wines perfectly to consumers. All modules are structured very well and the key sentences are marked in bold. However it would be great if the statistics of sales, wineries and all the numbers in percentage would be updated on the regular bases. Big thanks to creators of this study programm. It is very helpfull for preparing to certification and teaching in Sommelier schools!

Ace+ Unlike me, you’ll have to be Speedy Gonzales-like in the final exam & ready to select multiple options (not just one) to answer correctly. The end-of-section practice questions can be revisited as many times as you like but really aren’t that useful for the final exam. Clay-limestone soils are a 'thing' in Rioja Alavesa! Salud.

I think it should be possible to review any of the units more than once, before being required to take the final exam; or else, make it very clear that one should take good notes from which to study. While the course is very interesting and comprehensive, a few of the quiz questions are quite unnecessarily highly specific (does it really matter if the DOC involves exactly 144 municipalities, rather than just >100?).

This was a fun and informative course. The modules were a great, digestible size and the regular quizzes were very helpful. It's a great program, and I recommend it to anyone. I lived in Spain (but left before the changes and addition of varieties) and though I visited Rioja a number of times, I learned a lot from this course.

A very informative and interesting course. I thought I had a good knowledge of the area but have learnt a lot. I would go over all the modules again once you have finished to refresh your memory as the exam is quite challenging.

A very good course. It helped me on basic winemaking topics (soil, grapes, climate etc.) and helped me in preparations for my WSET 3 rd level exam. One of the greatest tips was the website www.greatwinecapitals.com which I will use to plan my trip to the Rioja region. The exam was really difficult, I thought. Multiple answers to multiple choice questions were tricky.

One of the best online wine course available now.Very well planned designed with lots of picture and video demonstration.Its 15 hours timing but I would recommend study well before attempting the exam some questions are very tricky n have more than one answer .So please read every single words in the study materials.Thanks once again Rioja Wine Academy for this beautiful informative course.In the end when you will get the certificate its really worth it.
